Glen Brook Way Phase II
Located in Medway, Glen Brook Way Senior Apartments (or Phase II) provides renters 62+ with 44 apartments in two buildings, all affordable to households earning up to 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income. To better serve the needs of our residents, 100% of the units are visitable. Additionally, a high-efficiency building envelope contributes to a reduced carbon footprint for the property, which is the first Metro West CD property to be Passive House certified. The buildings also include solar photovoltaic rooftop arrays.
Glen Brook Way Senior Apartments is co-located with Metro West CD’s Glen Brook Way Family Apartments property, completed in 2021. Together, the two phases create a 92-unit intergeneration campus, complete with resident lounges, a playground, meeting rooms for resident services, and on-site property management.
The two-phase Glen Brook Way community was completed through close collaboration with the Town of Medway and was critical to helping Medway achieve safe harbor status under Chapter 40B. In a nearly unprecedented fashion, Town of Medway community leaders encouraged Metro West CD to expand upon its original concept for a vacant site on West St – and so what began as an idea for a 32-unit apartment community turned into a 92-unit intergenerational campus. The Town granted a Comprehensive (Chapter 40B) Permit and committed more than $2 million in CPA funds to the two-phase project.
Glen Brook Way Senior Apartments received extensive support from the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), as well as CEDAC, Stratford Capital Group, MHP and Eastern Bank.
Along with Metro West CD, the project team for Glen Brook Way Senior Apartments included architect Meander Studios and general contractor Dellbrook | JKS.
