For Residents of Brookline – In response to the continuing need for financial assistance, especially as it affects housing stability, Brookline CDC and Metro West Collaborative Development announce a new Emergency Rent Assistance program for residents of Brookline. The program is temporary in nature and funding is limited.
The application requires 3 steps:
- Complete online application via the link below. Contact Robyn@metrowestcd.org for assistance
- When requested, submit all income verification documentation to Metro West CD
- Meet with Brookline CDC to create an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) to avoid future rent arrears
Applicants must owe no more than $5,000 in arrears and are eligible for up to $3,500 of assistance, paid to the landlord.
Complete applications (includes Landlord Participation Agreement and ISP) will be processed on a first come first served basis.
Low-moderate income renters living in Lexington, MA are invited to apply for the Lexington Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) Pilot Rental Assistance Program (Lex PRAP). This program is a short-term rental assistance program administered by Metro West CD. The program provides up to 6 months of rental assistance for income-eligible, rent-burdened households (those paying more than 30% of gross income on rent plus, for tenant-paid utilities, an allowance based on Lexington Housing Authority utility allowances). Lottery applications are due July 22, 2026 by 5pm. If funds are available, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after the lottery deadline.
Only complete applications will be entered into the lottery. Participation in the lottery is not a guarantee of assistance. For more information, please read the program flyer and guidelines below.

For Residents of Lincoln – Applications are now available for the Lincoln Rental Assistance Program, a collaborative program of the Lincoln Housing Commission and the Lincoln Council on Aging & Human Services (COA&HS), funded by the Community Preservation Act. Eligible applicants receive a monthly rental subsidy for three years.
Through the program, households that pay more than 30% of their income in rent and utilities and meet income and other eligibility guidelines may apply to receive a monthly subsidy to bring their rent down to 1/3 of income. Those wishing to apply may contact the Lincoln Council on Aging & Human Services to have an application mailed.
