Resident Services Assistant
This intern helps facilitate activities and services that are of interest and benefit of our tenants and the neighborhoods in which they reside. Specific duties may include: – Convening youth activities for resident’s children – Organizing clean up or community gardening events – Facilitating guest speakers or workshops for tenants
Economic Development Research Assistant
Help us identify what our 16 communities are doing to address “economic development” in their towns. Research planning documents, interview planning staff and key business leaders, and synthesize results into one report with recommendations on how our CDC might best support the efforts of the town.
Create a “State of the Town” report that analyzes demographic trends, employment data, census data and identifies gaps in human services and other opportunities for community change. Specific duties may include: – Identifying data sources – Culling data and presenting findings to a focus group – Authoring and presenting report
Neighborhood Outreach Assistant
Come knock on doors and learn about what Watertown residents are concerned about. Help form neighborhood leadership committees to create and implement community-led improvement agendas. Specific duties may include: – Knocking on doors and gathering community survey responses – Convening neighborhood meetings – Researching neighborhood issues
Real Estate Development Assistant
Seek out real estate community development opportunities through research into ownership of sites, zoning, permitting and following leads and for-sale signs. Specific duties may include: – Creating maps and data bases of ownership within target neighborhoods – Researching zoning opinions and status of permits – Contacting owners and realtors to investigate opportunities
